Surf Wear
Surfing, like most water sports, doesn’t require a whole lot in the way of clothing to attempt. Surf wear however is more than just what you would wear while surfing. It’s an entire branch of the clothing industry that includes such brands as rip curl and quicksilver. These companies started as suppliers of swimwear, but now make more money off of such items as shirts and hats than they do from swimwear sales.
Surf wear is especially popular among young people. You’ll see ample examples if you step onto any high school or college campus. The relaxed yet good looking attire that is the trademark of surf wear appeals to the demographic that cares about the way they look but wants to be comfortable at the same time. That’s the biggest reason it appeals to that age group.
Whether it’s braided hemp necklaces or flip flops, you can tell when a person is decked out in surf wear. Most times the clothing will be accompanied by a dark tan, unless of course the person wears the clothes, but doesn’t live the lifestyle. That type is more often than not imitating someone they admire or envy that wears surf wear, rather than discovering their own style.
