Surf Clothing

Surf clothing is supposed to be comfortable, relaxed, and slightly rugged. While actually surfing, you don’t need much more than a swimsuit, or possibly a wetsuit for some conditions, but that isn’t what’s being talked about when people mention surf clothing. They’re talking about the shorts, the t-shirts, and the sandals.

Some brands of surf clothing have become so main stream that they’re barely associated with surfing anymore. Quicksilver is a perfect example of this effect. When the quicksilver brand was launched, they sold swimming suits and sandals. Over the years they have evolved into a clothing brand with a loyal following.

This exemplifies the allure surf clothing, and through it the entire surfer life, has for Americans. You won’t find a surfer with anger management issues and high blood pressure. You won’t find a bi polar suicidal surfer. They are by and large happy people, doing what they love. That is what surf clothing is selling through the image of a surfer, happiness.
